STEPS TO PREPARE YOUR MIXED VEGETABLE EGUSI SOUP

RECIPES (4 SERVINGS)

2 smoked catfish
1 kilogramme lean beef
3 bunches of water leaves (washed,shredded)
2 small stock fish
2 bunches of pumpkin leaves (washed,shredded)
2 tablespoons of ground crayfish
3 cups of  ground egusi (,melon)
1 onion (shredded)
4 red pepper (ground)

  
METHOD OF PREPARATION

Wash,salt,season,and cook the beef,stock fish and fish until the meat is quite tender. While still on the fire,add the palm oil,crayfish,pepper and the onions. Then boil for another three minutes.

Stir and add the ground egusi,cover and simmer for two minutes,before adding the shredded  waterleaves and ugu leaves. Stir thoroughly and simmer for two minutes. Remove from heat and serve alongside hot pounded yam (iyan).

$2.1bn arms deal scandal: Why Jonathan have not been arresred-EFCC

Acting Chairman of EFCC,Ibrahim Magu says  the agency is yet to arrest ex-President,Goodluck Jonathan  because no document has been traced to Jonathan's approval of   embezzlement of the money other than arms purchase.
Speaking at a meeting he had with online publishers in Lagos yesterday,Jan. 11th,Magu said all those that have been arrested and questioned  in connection with the arms deal  scandal were people who disbursed  or collected money for reasons other than the purchase of arms and ammunition."All approvals by former President,Jonathan didn't mention it was for political reasons.

Three Friends killed shortly after their Car plunged from a Cliff

Ezu Manzano,36,Adam Bailey,33 and 24-year-old Cordel were killed  when their car fell fifty-feet  from the Buford Spring Connector down to the lanes of 1-75 below.

According to Fox 5, it happened just after 3:00 am on Saturday Morning,Jan. 9 on the bend below  the Savanna College of Arts and Design in Atlanta.

Authorities say they lost control of the car and flipped over the retaining wall and fell close to 100 feet,landing on the inter-state below.
It was reported that there is a 3-feet concrete barrier alongside the edge of the road,but it wasn't enough  to keep the car from going straight over the side.

A female  tourist had a painful encounter with a catfish off the coast of Brazil .

Health Workers took the bizzare picture of the sea habitant stuck to   the woman's stomach as  they took her to the hospital so the object   could be removed.

They cut the fish from her body at the scene in resort in Itanhaem,Sao Paulo.

But the serrated spine in it's fin had to be taken out with microsurgery to avoid her flesh being ripped out.

Marcelo Araujo,who posted the pictures on his Facebook page said 'a rare occurrence,a swimmer is hit by a fish"

He added,"we were alerted to an incident  when an object stuck a swimmer's stomach and when we got there,it was discovered it was a fish.

She was in a lot of pains,we didn't remove the spine because  only a doctor can do this.  We took her to the hospital so she could have microsurgery.
"Generally we deal with people who have stood on fish or have cut a finger touching one,but I have never seen a catfish stuck to someone's stomach,it was definitely a first".

Chief Justice,Roy Moore orders ban on Same-Sex Marriage in Alabama

Alabama Supreme Court Chief,Justice Roy Moore  an order on Wednesday informing the State's probate Judges on their 'Ministerial Duty" not to  issue any marriage license  contrary to "Alabama's Constitutional Amendment banning Same -Sex Marriage .

Despite the US Supreme Court 's  decision overruling such state bans. Moore maintains Alabama's law is still valid. He also stated that as a Chief Justice,he is empowered to 'take Affirmative and Appropriate action to connect or alleviate  any condition or situation  adversely affecting the administration of justice within the state".

TRAGEDY: Policeman kills Man while attempting to seize his bike

A Policeman attached to Eziama Police Division shot and killed a father of two (IKeleokwu Onyemachi ) while trying  to seize his motorcycle   at Ogbor Hill,Aba,Abia State yesterday.

Onyemachi,a businessman based in Port-Harcourt and his friend Okike, from Abala community in Obingwa  were on their way home after depositing the body of one Pa Okike at  Group Medical Practice,,GMP mortuary  near Azuka Police Station when a Policeman  and his colleagues in a grey Peugeuot 504 try to consficate their motorcycle.

The deceased and his friend tried to explain to the Police team that they just deposited  the corpse of Okike's father,but the Policemen didn't listen  to their explanation. One of the armed officers whose name is unknown pulled his gun and shot Onyemachi in the head .

The Police team were said to have fled soon after.

 
Onyemachi was pronounced dead shortly after by Medical Personnel at Abia State Teaching Hospital (ABSUTH).

When contacted,Abia State Police Public  Relations Officer,DSP   Ezekiel Onyeke confirmed to the Vanguard that the State Commissioner of Police,Habila Joshak has directed the arrest of the killer policeman.
